New DayZ Snow Map Sakhal 2024
New DayZ Snow Map Sakhal 2024 has been announced. What do we know about the snow map Sakhal?
Well we know its the smallest map yet, its about half the size of Chernarus map and it is set in the far east of Russia.
Its made up of snowy volcanic mountains and its set to get colder the further inland you go.
The new map is called Sakhal and is set to be released later this year as part of the new Frostline expansion.
DayZ has announced a brand new map called Sakhal as part of the latest Frostline expansion set to be released on 15th October 2024, it is set in the far east of Russia. Its actually based off the real life place called Kamchatka Peninsula. It’s going to be the smallest DayZ map to be released so far, it covers just 83 km2 of land, so its around half the size of Chernarus so expect a lot of PVP.
At a guess servers will probably host around 40 players which is the same as a lot of the popular Namalsk servers, to many players on such a small map will soon end up in a cluster fu#k and be more like a TDM server.
Just like the mod map Namalsk food and water will now freeze, now some of the food yoy find you will have to unfreeze near a fire, cans of drinks, water and some tinned items will need to be unfrozen before being consumed. On a plus side warmed up food will now replenish you more.
Fishing has changed, you can now attach a worm and a hook to the rod without any animations. Another good change is you can now stack worms to make catching a fish faster. There’s also chance of reeling in caviar when you fish, which can be eaten without any preparation, handy if your starving to death while fishing.
A new fish has also been added a steelhead trout. They have also re added rabbits from way back when DayZ was an Arma 2 mod and reindeer, they have complete with new animations and AI. We are unsure of what this DLC will cost but we do know it will be less than £30.
